After a lot of anticipation this kit is finally available. We worked alongside lockpicking guru OLIVER DIEDERICHSEN to create an IMPRESSIONING kit second to none - and guess what? We succeeded. Oliver is widely recognised as the world authority on IMPRESSIONING and after several phone conversations, a lot of emails and a lot of testing, we've created the kit to Olivers specifications. This is the man who can impression locks in minutes - he knows what he's doing - HE WROTE THE BOOK ON IT!
If you don't already know, IMPRESSIONING is the art of making a key for a lock by working from small marks made on an uncut key by the pins in the locked lock. The blank key is wiggled around in the lock, allowing the pins to mark the key. The marks are filed until no mark is left, at which point the key is then the right one for the lock, and it opens.
A lot of people have felt let down by current so-called impressioning kits and slack information on the market and abandoned the technique, but since the release of Olivers book, the 'Impressioning Rush' (as Barry Wells calls it) is back on. There are so many advantages to this technique, probably the most important one being the customer gets a working key as soon as the lock is opened! If you're willing to put in the effort to learn, IMPRESSIONING will open up a whole new world of possibilities. 'IMPRESSIONING' by Oliver Diederichsen.

This is the book that is taking the Lock-picking world by storm. Barry Wells calls it 'The Book' and it is an absolute treat. Written by the man who knows, IMPRESSIONING has step by step instructions on impressioning as well as loads of excellent photographs. Although this kit is designed primarily for the impressioning of pin-tumbler locks, the book also discusses dimple lock, laser track and other types of impressioning. Of special interest is the tables at the back of the book which contain precise measurements for each depth for all the major European and US brands of locks, which means you know exactly how deep to file once you've located the impression. This book has changed how the lock picking world views IMPRESSIONING.

ILLUMINATED MAGNIFIER:

With the use of a Maglite (supplied) this magnifier allows you to easily identify the small marks (or 'Impressions') on the key. The Maglite slides into the magnifier and the key is then inserted into the viewing area. With the light cast across the top of the blade the impressions are easy to see and therefore work from. The beauty of this tool is it's versatility: Perfect for home use as well as out at work in the field. The quality of the illumination and magnification is tried and tested - perfect for this technique.

KROEPLIN MICROMETER
With this German made precision instrument, you can measure exactly how deep you've filed. Used in conjunction with the tables in the book the guesswork is taken out of the equation and acquiring exactly the right depth is easily achievable. Made by Kroeplin, the leaders in the manufacture of measuring tools for the aerospace, automotive and medical industries, this is the ideal tool for this frequently overlooked yet essential part of IMPRESSIONING.

Absolutley essential is a decent file. And this is the best. Made in Switzerland by the masters 'GLARDON', the cut of this file leaves the perfect surface to take the next impression.

Files of a lower quality leave the impressioning surface of the key to crude to make the following impression clear. This is the king of files, the perfect cut and size. As with all the components of this kit, this is the best
