Dimple locks are like standard pin cylinders, but the keyway (and therefore key) are turned 90 degrees. The pins are bigger too, with less space between the cuts, making them a real problem to open with regular picks. That's where this pick comes in.

• Slide pick into lock,
• Check alignment with pins by gentle jiggling
• Apply tension using built-in tension tool
• Identify binding pin, the one with most resistance
• Pick binding pin by rotating turner
• When binding pin 'clicks' it's picked
• Identify next binding pin and pick it - then repeat
• When all pins are picked, the tension will turn the plug/core and the lock is open
