Dangerfield Jackal and Viper lock pick cases
Seventeen individual tool pockets, a fold-out panel for your turners, and a full-height zip pocket for the bulky things, all inside a wallet that is 2.5 cm (1 in) across the spine and lives in a jacket pocket. The pockets take slim Dangerfield handles and chunky Peterson handles equally well, so you are not sorting your kit by what the case will accept. Olive Viper, tan Jackal, or both.
Loose picks are how good tools get ruined
Picks rattling around in a bag come out bent, scratched and blunted at the tip, and the one you want is always at the bottom. A tip that has been mangled against a set of keys stops reading pins properly, so you end up blaming your technique for a problem the carry created. Give every tool a pocket of its own and that whole category of frustration disappears.
Tips stay straight
One pocket per tool means hooks, rakes and half-diamonds are never grinding against each other, so the profiles you paid for stay the profiles you bought.
Bulky handles welcome
All sixteen main pockets are cut to the same generous size. A slim Dangerfield handle and a fat Peterson handle both drop straight in, so no pocket is off limits.
Small enough that you carry it
At 2.5 cm (1 in) across the spine it goes in a jacket pocket, a glovebox or the lid pocket of a rucksack. A case you leave at home organises nothing.

A full set, the turners, and the awkward extras
The internal length is 14 cm (5.5 in), so standard hooks, rakes, half-diamonds, bogotas and the usual run of tensioners all lie flat with room to spare. The sixteen main pockets are cut to one generous size on purpose. Plenty of cases force you to keep the fat-handled picks in one special row, and this one does not: a Peterson handle goes wherever a bare Dangerfield handle goes.
Load it the way you work. Most people fill the rows left to right in reach order, keep the turners on the fold-out panel where the thumb finds them first, and use the zip pocket for the things that would otherwise scratch a tip: spare tensioners, a pinning tweezer, shims, a practice lock. Once the layout is muscle memory you stop looking at the case at all.
Anything longer than 14 cm (5.5 in), such as a full-size tubular pick or a Lishi decoder, wants a bigger case. Filling this one from scratch? Start with individual picks so the set suits your hands, then add a spread of tension tools, since the turner is what most first attempts are missing.

Water-resistant outdoor fabric
A tight woven EDC-grade shell that shrugs off rain, wet grass and a damp boot lid. Water resistant rather than sealed, so treat it as a jacket, not a dry bag.
Reinforced bound edges
Every border is bound and reinforced, which is exactly where a soft case usually blows out first. It holds its shape in the hand instead of folding round your tools.
Chunky moulded zip and paracord pull
A heavy moulded plastic zip runs round three sides, with a knotted paracord pull you can find and yank with cold or gloved hands.
