brockhage pick gun
very good piece of kit
Does an OK job for simpler locks, otherwise sucks
The issue is that the pick is moving in an angular motion not parallel, so it's kinda hard to bump all the pins simultaneously. You can move back and forth in the lock and try setting each pin one by one, but you could just use a conventional rake/pick for the same effect...
Worked great dident expect it to work as well as it did really happy thank you
Great tool a must have item , tried it for the first time today and opened 3 locks after a little play great made up with it thanks . Haven't looked at the book as I've only just come home from off shore
Brockhage pick gun.
I decided to go for the manual rather than the electric pick gun as it would be instantly useable rather than have to remember to keep the battery charged. I found it surprisingly easy to use as it is solid and smaller than expected. I did have to tighten a screw in the 'body' of the gun which had started to come loose but it has not repeated this so its ok. You will need to keep the needle screw tight as it can loosen which will ruin the picking. I found it easier to start with the gun set low and use very light tension on the lock. For padlocks the tension needs to be increased to overcome the spring resistance. I only give an initial two or three clicks and then release the tension to see how many pins reset before increasing the adjustment on the gun. Once I have worked out roughly what to have the gun set to I usually open the lock with about 3 clicks of the gun each time. I start off low so as not to hammer the pins and springs too much. A very good and useful tool that went through most of my practice locks rapidly!
