Everything you need to start bumping, in one order
This kit puts together the four pieces our bumping customers buy side by side: three Ultimate bump keys cut in-house, reusable dampeners, the Dangerfield Bump Hammer and a pack of Loxprings. The keys give you three bumping patterns to compare, the dampeners and springs keep each strike and reset consistent, and the hammer delivers the same sharp tap every time, so you can concentrate on timing and tension instead of fighting your setup.
Buy all four together and save 10% on the separate prices.
What's in the kit
3 Piece Ultimate Bump Key Set
Three bump keys cut in-house on industry-standard universal profiles, with three different bumping patterns so you can feel how the cut changes the result.
Bump key dampeners
Reusable rings that space the key correctly in the keyway and help it reset after each strike, so you stop over-inserting and losing your rhythm.
Dangerfield Bump Hammer
A light, balanced striker with a flat face, built to land one square, repeatable tap instead of whatever happens to be on the bench.
Loxprings
Bumping springs that push the key back out between taps, making the reset easier to repeat while you work on timing and tension.
How bumping works
- Fit a dampener or a Loxpring to a bump key that matches the keyway, then slide the key in and draw it back one click from fully home.
- Hold light turning pressure on the key and give its head one sharp, square tap with the bump hammer. The kinetic energy jumps through the key into the driver pins and lifts them above the shear line for a split second.
- Keep that light turning pressure through the tap so the plug rotates while the pins are clear. If it doesn't turn, let the key reset and adjust your tension or the strength of the tap before trying again.
Why buy the kit
Most first-time frustration with bumping comes from improvised hammers, keys that never sit at the same depth twice and no reset between strikes. This kit takes those variables away, so each attempt teaches you something about timing and tension. It also costs less than buying the four pieces separately. Add The Bumpology lock bumping guide if you'd like the full technique explained step by step.
Use bump keys only on locks you own or have clear permission to work on.
